A half-century romance between two men - in a self-told documentary

MEDIA BUZZ:

"BOB AND JACK'S 52-YEAR ADVENTURE" It's a real life love story to rival "Casablanca," only this one has a happy ending. Bob Claunch and Jack Reavley met when both were in the army and stationed in Munich after World War II. Jack was married with two toddlers and the vivacious Bob was much sought after as a radio personality. "Don't ask, don't tell" be damned, the staff sergeant and first lieutenant fell for one another, though as Reavley notes, "We didn't even call it gay in those days." Director Stu Maddux has the good sense to let these two engaging raconteurs tell their own story and the result is one of the most genuine and inspirational portrayals of same sex commitment ever captured. It's a revelation to be offered a depiction of gay life that isn't fixated on clothing optional cocktail brunches or the eternal struggle for washboard abs.

"This movie is an enormously charming portrait of a couple who originally met when both were in the Army in Germany in 1952. At various points, Bob and Jack are alternately filmed in front of one another instead of side by side by filmmaker Stu Maddux ,which adds a subtle charm and humor to their endearing and inspirational story.

-Windy City Times, Chicago

"Bob Claunch and Jack Reavley have moved beyond their golden anniversary and will celebrate their 55th year together this Christmas. Their story has been immortalized in this award-winning film."
